Hello,

I have a few questions about WP Media Folder.

1) Your website says, "The original image and your watermark image will generate one single image with a non-removable watermark." Does it mean that every image uploaded on the website will be watermarked including on the shop pages displayed on the website?

2) I am wondering. It says about "the original image". When a buyer purchases an image, will it be free of watermark after payment? If so, the buyer won't be happy about it though. Can you enlighten me here?

3) Could you please clarify whether watermarks are automatically applied when files are uploaded to the Media File Folder?

4) The WP Media Folder (Plugin + All Add Ons) comes equipped with a cloud functionality. Can I change a cloud storage provider down the road? Is it going to be such a hassle in order to move my images and files?

5) I have two accounts on cloud storage. Will I be able to integrate my two accounts of the same cloud storage company into WP Media Folder?

6) Does the WP Media Folder have a feature to prevent and block unauthorized users from accessing files on my Media Folder WordPress?

7) Is it possible for the plugin to prevent search engines from crawling the Media Folder in WordPress?

8) Can the WP Media Folder plugin limit the number of digital downloads assigned to the users?

I hope to hear from you. Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

1. You have the flexibility to apply watermarks selectively by restricting them to specific folders or WooCommerce products.
You can find detailed instructions here:
https://www.joomunited.com/wordpress-documentation/wp-media-folder/200-wp-media-folder-configuration#toc-8-image-watermark

2. For WooCommerce products, watermarks will be applied to images in the product gallery based on your configuration settings.
However, for downloadable files that customers receive after purchase, you can add the original, unwatermarked versions in the downloadable files section of your product.
This way, customers can view and download the original files once their order is complete.

3. Yes, watermarks can be automatically applied upon upload. Please refer to the configuration guide linked above for setup instructions.

4. Switching cloud storage providers depends on which type you're using.
- If you're using offload platforms like S3, Google Cloud, or Cloudflare, the transition is relatively quick.
- However, if you're using cloud connectors like Google Drive or Dropbox, you'll need to handle the migration manually.
This is because these connectors generate a complete cloud folder structure on your cloud account.
For more details about these two types of cloud platforms, please visit our documentation:
https://www.joomunited.com/support/wordpress-plugins-documentation?extension=wp-media-folder

5. Only one cloud account per platform type can be connected at a time.
This is because connecting to a service like Google Drive creates a root folder on your cloud account, which would conflict with multiple account connections.

6. Yes, WP Media Folder includes user access restrictions based on roles. You can configure these permissions in the plugin settings.
For detailed instructions, please see:
https://www.joomunited.com/wordpress-documentation/wp-media-folder/198-wp-media-folder-folders-and-media#toc-restrict-folders-access-2

7. This feature isn't currently integrated into WP Media Folder, but you can achieve this using an SEO plugin such as WP Meta SEO to control search engine crawling.

8. Unfortunately, this feature isn't available. Once customers successfully complete their purchase, they have unlimited download access to the product files.

Cheers,
V

Hi there,

Thanks for the response. I still have a few more questions though.

1) You wrote "Once customers successfully complete their purchase, they have unlimited download access to the product files." This is quite discouraging though. I am wondering if your plugin is like a shopping cart which then can deliver the digital products upon payments?

2) Can the plugin hide downloadable URLs of digital products?

3) Is there any other plugin (perhaps, Woocommerce) that can be compatible and work together with WP Media Folder? So, I can limit downlaodable access to the product files.

4) Can I use other cloud storage which is not on your list?

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me with more information.

I apologize for the confusion - let me clarify how WP Media Folder works:

About WP Media Folder:
Our plugin enhances WordPress's default media library by adding virtual folders, making it much easier to organize and manage your media files.

Answers to questions 1-3:
WP Media Folder integrates with WooCommerce, which gives you full control over digital product downloads.
Through WooCommerce's product settings, you can limit download access, set time restrictions, and manage permissions for your digital products.
For complete details on setting this up, please refer to WooCommerce's documentation:
https://woocommerce.com/document/managing-products/

Answer to question 4:
We support two categories of cloud storage (as shown on our main product page):

- Standard cloud services (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) - These maintain their own folder structure separate from your Media Library
- Offload services (Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, Cloudflare R2, etc.) - These sync directly with your WordPress Media Library

At this time, we only support the cloud services listed on our product page:
https://www.joomunited.com/wordpress-products/wp-media-folder

Cheers,
