Hello,

I have two questions regarding WP Media Folder when working with Cloudflare R2 as external storage:

1. Using Custom Domains Instead of the R2.dev Public Development URL

When I connect Cloudflare R2 and select an existing bucket, WP Media Folder requires the field “R2.dev subdomain (*)”.
After filling this field, all image URLs are generated using the Public Development URL of the bucket (the *.r2.dev domain).

However, Cloudflare does not recommend using the Development URL in production, and it is also not SEO-friendly.
I would like all image URLs to use the bucket’s Custom Domain (e.g., cdn.mydomain.com) instead of the default r2.dev URL.

Question:
Is there any way to configure WP Media Folder so that it outputs image URLs using my Custom Domain instead of the r2.dev development endpoint?

2. Bulk Editing ALT Text / File Names for Remote Images

When images are stored remotely (Cloudflare R2), is there any method to bulk update the image metadata, such as:

ALT text

Title

File name

Caption

Description

Does WP Media Folder provide any CSV import feature or another bulk-editing tool to modify metadata for remote images?

If not, is there a recommended workflow or integration to achieve this?

Thank you, and I look forward to your guidance.

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

1. You can configure WP Media Folder to use your custom domain instead of the R2.dev development URL.
Simply enter your custom domain (or R2.dev subdomain) in the URL field during setup.

For detailed instructions on this configuration, please refer to our documentation:
https://www.joomunited.com/wordpress-documentation/wp-media-folder/697-wp-media-folder-addon-cloudflare-r2-integration#toc-r2-dev-subdomain

2. WP Media Folder does support bulk editing of image metadata for remote files stored in R2. You can use our AI Tools feature to generate and update metadata in bulk.

For a complete guide on using this feature, please visit:
https://www.joomunited.com/wordpress-documentation/wp-media-folder/198-wp-media-folder-folders-and-media#toc-ai-tools-2

If you have any additional questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to ask!

I understand why, because we need to add https:// before Custom Domains
