Hi!

I have some questions regarding the features of the plugin:

- Does it allow us to create and edit folders?
- Does it allow us to set access roles on a folder level?
- Does it allows to select folders that can receive file upload from users?
- Does the plugin provides the following hooks for when these events: file access by user (folder views, downloads)

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

- Does it allow us to create and edit folders?
- Does it allow us to set access roles on a folder level?

Yes! You can restrict users to manage their files and folders based on their role or individual user permissions.

- Does it allows to select folders that can receive file upload from users?

When you set up these restrictions, you can control which files appear inside each user's folder.
You can find detailed setup instructions here:
https://www.joomunited.com/wordpress-documentation/wp-media-folder/200-wp-media-folder-configuration#toc-3-media-access-2

- Does the plugin provides the following hooks for when these events: file access by user (folder views, downloads)

Unfortunately, we don't provide hooks for tracking file access events like folder views or downloads.
Since WP Media Folder works by creating virtual folders within WordPress's default Media Library (rather than handling file access directly),
these types of tracking hooks aren't part of what the plugin offers.

Thank you!

Regarding:

Does the plugin provide hooks for the following events — specifically, file access by users (e.g., folder views, downloads)?

If not, is there any recommended workaround we could use to access or manually generate this information?

Like being able to edit the download link or clicks on the folder/file?

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me with more information.

I want to make sure I'm giving you the right information - are you asking about WP Media Folder or WP File Download? These are two different plugins we offer.

WP File Download actually includes statistics for tracking file downloads, which sounds like it might be closer to what you need.
WP Media Folder doesn't currently support the hooks you mentioned, and it wouldn't be feasible to add this functionality.

Still for WP File Download PRO:

Can we set a page for the user download view only to show for authenticated WordPress users? Would you have the documentation link for this?

Hi bruno@flavorexp,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

Absolutely! You can definitely restrict the download page to show only for authenticated WordPress users.
You'll find all the details on how to set this up in our documentation here:
https://www.joomunited.com/wordpress-documentation/wp-file-download/666-file-access-and-management-limitation#toc-file-access-and-visibility-2
The guide will walk you through the different restriction options available to make sure only logged-in users can access your download pages.

If you encounter any issues, please submit a support ticket at Menu Support > Support ticket
so our technical team can investigate this issue and provide a solution.

Hello! For WP File Download PRO, do you have a developer documentation for hooks of events like file downloaded, folder accessed?

Also, how can I set the plugin to automatically create a private folder for each user?
