I am testing WP File download with a folder structure consisting of two categories with each having sub categories. Each main category and their sub categories are password protected. I am having two issues.

I am testing on several computers and with different browsers.
- at times the password protected categories are visible with out entering a password.
- once a password has been entered the category remains open and visible even after clearing local and server cache. I have also configed the cache to not cache the page with no luck.

I just want the users to have to enter a password to access a category when visiting the page and then password protection reapplied in a defined time.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us here about this extension.

It’s possible that the password expiration duration is currently set to a long interval, which keeps the categories accessible.
To investigate this further and provide a specific fix, please open a support ticket here: Support > Support Ticket.
Our development team will be happy to look into the details for you.

Good Morninng,

This is regarding ticket #18572Passwords Protection.

I have spent a great deal of time trying to get the plugin working. Generally support has trying to resovle my issues but it does not meet my clients needs. I submitted the following yesterday and recieved the response indicated but it did not answer my questions. Please direct me on how to to resolve my issues.

Thank you for the web hook. I implemented it using Code Snippets after setting the log out to 30 minutes and I am still having issues. It is working intermittently. At times it logs users out at 30 minutes and then the password does not work until I clear Elementor’s and Sitegrounds cache. Other times the categories are still open after the 30 minutes and stay open.

I was looking for a simple system where I could password protect a series of categorized files. My client wanterd a system where users accessed files and then they would be logged out at a defined time. I have been trying to set this up with your plugin for hours and it does not appear the plugin will allow me to meet the client defined requirements. I would appreciate a refund so I can find a way to keep my client happy.

Thanks.

The response was as follows which did not answer my question regarding a refund.

Thanks for your message.

Yes, you should clean your end to ensure it works correctly on the site.

Best regards,
